How do I get hold of my chauffeur?

You will be given his cell phone number the day before your service commences

Who do I phone if my chauffeur is not on time?

You contact the relevant operations office on their 24hr standby number (list attached)

How do I know if I am getting into the right vehicle?

Ask the chauffeur to confirm on his manifest

Where do I find my chauffeur at the airport?

In the arrivals hall with a name board

How do I confirm that my chauffeur is employed by Avis?

He/she will be in a full Avis uniform (black or red) and will have an identification card as well as a manifest

What happens if I need to cancel my Avis Chauffeur drive booking?

Please note, individual reservations are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of the quoted service if reservation is cancelled within 6 (six) business hours or business days (defined as Monday to Friday between 08:00 - 17:00) of the commencement of services.

If I have a group booking with Avis Chauffeur drive and I need to cancel, will I be charged, what is the time frame to cancel?

Group reservations are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of the entire quoted service if the reservation is cancelled 7 (seven) business days (defined as Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00) of the commencement of services.

When do I get charged for an Avis Chauffeur drive booking?

The chauffeur drive charges will start from the time booked and confirmed unless changed 6 working hours prior to arrival. (Defined Monday to Friday 08h00 to 17h00).

Will my rate change if I book very early?

Please note that the rates are current at time of quotation and are subject to change without prior notice. Avis Chauffeur drive will do everything we can to accommodate the rate at time of booking.

If I have to be collected away from the cities, are there additional charged?

A one way fee is charged if pick up and/ or drop off is outside main city centres where Avis Luxury Collection branch is situated, Example: if a customer wants to be transferred from KMIA to Sabi Sands area, there will be a One Way Fee from Johannesburg to KMIA and a one way fee from KMIA back to Johannesburg, plus the transfer fee.

Can I pay cash for my Avis Chauffeur drive booking?

No cash transactions are allowed during and/ or at termination of service.

How will I know if the Avis Chauffeur is there to collect me, and how will I recognize the Avis Chauffeur?

Avis Chauffeur Drive does personal meet and greet by chauffeur at every location. You will recognise the Avis Chauffeur Drive chauffeur with the Black suit, Avis tie, and of course, the “We Try Harder” badges.

Will Avis Chauffeur drive for my safety, know where their vehicle is at all times?

All Chauffeur vehicles are monitored by a vehicle management system.

Can I get a Chauffeur service to different countries?

No Avis Chauffeur Drive vehicle is permitted to go over the borders of South Africa.

What is the process for long trips with a Chauffeur?

Our chauffeurs are required to take a 15 minute break after every four hours of continuous driving.
